Football legend Gerd MUELLER died at the age of 75. Archive photo; Gerd Mueller will celebrate his 65th birthday on November 3rd, 2010. Gerhard "Gerd" Mueller (born November 3, 1945 in Noerdlingen), called The Bomber of the Nation, The Bomber or Little Fat Mueller, is a former German football player. His trademark was the lightning-fast turn in the smallest of spaces with a surprising goal shot even from the most unfavorable positions. The skillful exploitation of inattentiveness of the opposing defense ("dust gates") made him well known as well. His appearances in the so-called match of the century versus Italy during the 1970 World Cup and in the 1974 World Cup final are legendary. Today Gerd Mueller works as co-coach for the FC Bayern Munich Amateurs. PHOTO MOUNT. (Photo by Frank Hoermann/SVEN SIMON / SVEN SIMON / dpa Picture-Alliance via AFP)
