Annoncé au grand public en 2016, l’Icon of the Seas sera inauguré en 2024 pour une saison de croisieres dans les Caraibes. Ce gigantesque navire de Royal Caribbean International est le premier représentant de sa classe : la classe Icon. Long de 364 metres et large de 64 metres, cette ville flottante peut accueillir un maximum de 7600 passagers et un équipage de 2350 membres. The newly announced Star of the Seas , by US based Royal Caribbean, is set for its maiden voyage in 2025. It follows the company’s Icon of the Seas which lent its name to a new class called Icon. It will have a beach retreat, onboard theme park as well as experiences and favourites for what the company says will cater for “every type of family and adventurer .“ The Star is already under construction in Turku, Finland and its full features will revealed in the coming months. Sister ship Icon , set to make its maiden trip from Miami in January, is 365 metres long and has 20 decks with room for 7,800 passengers. It also highlights include six waterslides, seven pools – one for every day of the week; a stay-all-day neighbourhood for young families entertainment across air, ice, water and stage; plus more than 40 places to dine and drink.
