Pictures MUST credit: Samsung A new home help robot is set to come rolling in to homes this year — shaped like a ball. The Ballie by Korean electronics company Samsung is designed to assist around the home and be of use even when the owners are away. And it is also fitted with a projector than can be used for video calls Ballie is a bowling-ball sized sphere with a LiDAR distance and object detection sensor and a 1080p projector. The projector has two lenses and allows the robot to display movies, video calls and "greetings" on its surrounding surfaces. In a promo video Ballie greets a user who returns to their home by projecting the word "Welcome," as well as displaying a conference call, workout video and the contents of a nearby PC, like a secondary screen.
