Gerontologist, psychiatrist

He is Professor Emeritus of Semmelweis University with a post-graduate degree in medicine. For 25 years he worked at the Neurology and Psychiatry Clinic of Semmelweis Medical University (SOTE), from 1982 at its Gerontology Centre and since 2003 at the Kútvölgyi Hospital Clinic. He is a leading teacher of geriatric medicine. He is founder of the Open door Acute Psychiatry Department, the Acute Gerontopsychiatry Department and of the Psychogeriatric Outpatient Department. He is founder and leader of the Batthyány Strattmann László Academy for Elders (1997). He is also a member of the Council for the Elderly and THE Social Council. He is the author of several books and professional writings. In 2001 he was awarded the Order of Merit of the Hungarian Republic, Officer Cross.
