Péter Závodszky obtained his master degree in physics at Kosuth Lajos University (Debrecen) in 1962, and completed his PhD in biophysics at the Institute of Enzymology of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences in 1972. At present he is chief of the Structural Biochemistry Laboratory at the above Institute, doing experimental research in the field of protein folding, enzyme regulation and molecular immunology. The group has published more than 150 research papers in international scientific journals and periodicals. Péter Závodszky holds teaching positions at Eötvös Lorand University (Budapest) and Pázmány Péter Catolic University (Budapest), where he teaches physical biochemistry and molecular biology. During his carrier Péter Závodszky was visiting professor at several universities, among others: California Institute of Technology (Pasadena), University of Oxford, Universität Regensburg, UCLA (Los Angeles). He is corresponding member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts.
