24 March 2023, Saxony-Anhalt, Halle (Saale): The coral world as seen through underwater VR goggles is shown on a display at the Maya mare swimming paradise in Halle/Saale. Former swimmer and world champion Paul Biedermann (l) tests virtual snorkeling in the presence of Bernd Kaltenbach. In cooperation with two other partners, Kaltenbach's company Kabetec from Schonach has developed waterproof VR goggles that use special lenses and a special tracking system to make it possible to dive into a 3D animated world. The goggles with integrated snorkel transport the bather into a coral landscape with dolphins and a shipwreck in a pool set aside for this purpose. The company from the Black Forest has also developed special glasses for other areas, such as museums or roller coasters in amusement parks.
