Érdekesség, hogy az 1871-ben életre hívott sorozat történetében mindössze harmadik alkalommal fordult elő, hogy az aktuális címvédő legalább három góllal kapjon ki egy alacsonyabb osztályú riválisától: az 1905/06-os idényben az Aston Villa 5-1-es vereséget szenvedett a Manchester Unitedtől, az 1959/60-as idényben pedig a Nottingham Forest 3-0-ra maradt alul a Sheffield Uniteddel szemben.
