He received his teacher's degree in mathematics and physics from the JATE University in Szeged in 1980. He started his career the same year as a teacher in III. Béla Gimnázium in Baja, becoming deputy director, and, in 1995, director of the school. He has been a member of the 15-person board of the National Association of Grammar Schools since 1995, and in 2002, he became a member of the presidium. At present, he is deputy under-secretary of state for public education. He has participated in the self-development schools, self-development dormitories, and Roma self-development programs of the Soros Foundation. He has delivered thirty lectures and lead half-day courses for teachers and heads of institutions about self-development schools, evaluation of institutions, and quality assurance. As an advisor, he took part in the creation of institutional models I and II of the Comenius 2000 program and the group competition.
