Mihály Beck

Academic, professor emeritus - University of Debrecen

He was born in 1929; he obtained his degree in chemistry at the University of Sciences in Szeged in 1952. He worked at the institution until 1968 when he became the Head of the Physical Chemistry Department of the Kossuth Lajos University of Sciences in Debrecen. He did his PhD in 1958 and received his DSc in 1964. He became a corresponding member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences in 1973, and an ordinary member in 1979. He has been involved in co-ordinational chemistry research and reaction kinetics, and has had more than 400 papers and several books published. He has been a guest professor at various universities abroad. Presently, he is professor emeritus of Debrecen University, and a research fellow of MTA KKK.
