ICF Flatwater Racing World Cup Szeged

The Hungarian Canoe Federation is pleased to invite you to come to Szeged again to compete at the ICF Flatwater Racing World Cup in May, 2007. Having staged the world championships in 2006 with great success the Hungarian Canoe Federation is anxious to host another senior event of flatwater kayaking and canoeing.

There will not be boat control prior to the competition but a selected number of boats will be measured after each race.

17th May (Thursday)
17:00 - Teamleaders' meeting
18:30 - Officials' meeting
18th-20th May (Friday-Sunday)
Competition Programme

The long-distance races will be held during lunch breaks on the weekend with the single-boat competitions on Saturday and the doubles on Sunday. Men kayakers will cover their distance in 6 laps with 5 portages, while canoeists and women will have to paddle 5 laps and portage 4 times.

Heats for the relays will be held on Saturday and the finals on Sunday. Entering relays will be permitted on location at the Teamleaders' meeting. Athletes who are not on the list of competitors form sent to us earlier will not be permitted to start. The organizers permit, even encourage the entry of multinational relay teams so if there are not enough of you on your team to make a quartet look over the border.
